Geldof airs feelings over grandson’s name

You would expect, with children named Peaches, Fifi Trixibelle, Pixie and Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, that Sir Bob Geldof would enthusiastically embrace any further unconventional names in his family.

However, the former Boomtown Rats singer and Live Aid supremo has revealed that he can’t bring himself to say the name given to his grandson, Astala Dylan Willow Cohen-Geldof, by daughter Peaches, 23, and her musician partner Tom Cohen.

Not only does he dislike the name, but he has admitted on ITV 1′s Lorraine show that he doesn’t even know how to pronounce it and couldn’t bring himself to try. He went on to joke that he would have preferred them to have named the child after gloomy singer, Leonard Cohen.

Like any new grandparent though, he is clearly thrilled with the new arrival, and despite reservations about the name, has said that Peaches and Tom are “really happy”, “really good parents”, describing his grandson as “cute” and “a fantastic little chap”.
