How Long does delivery of my goods take?

We aim to dispatch your party items within 48hours (Weekdays excluding Bank Holidays) from placing your order. Please allow up to 7 days for personalised items such as Plates & Pottery.  We can offer personalised labels, sashes, ribbon, adhesive labels & chocolate bar wrappers on a next working day service as long as your order is placed before 12 NOON.  Please allow 3-4 days for Nappy Cakes as each one is made to order.  We will always inform you immediately if your order is going to take longer or an item has become out of stock. If you have signed in at Checkout, you can track the process of your order. If you have a tight time scale, we will always try to get items to you quickly. Who Hosts a Baby Shower?

It is usual for close friends, sisters, sister-in-law, aunts, work colleagues, cousins or mother-in-law to host the Baby Shower. Whoever is the host has the very rewarding job of making Mum-to-be feel very special. Mum-to-be may wish to organise her own Baby Shower Party. As the host you may decide to designate parts of the planning to others.

Date and Time for a Baby Shower?

Take into account those who work, holidays, cultural events and of course Mum-to-be. Plan the Baby Shower far enough into the pregnancy so its settled and early enough should the baby decide to make an early appearance! Typically 2-3 months before the baby is due (or shortly afterwards). Baby Shower Parties usually last for around 2-3 hours.

Location?

The home of the host is most usual, depending on capacity, costs, available dates, times and convenience for your guests. Its also worth considering tea rooms, restaurants, village halls, health spas for example.

Guest List?

Dont leave anyone out! Obvious but take care, so allow time to create the list. Talk to friends and family to ensure all possible guests are included.

To Surprise or Not to Surprise

Surprise baby shower parties are great and we have been involved in organising many surprise Baby Showers which have been a huge success - Mum-to-be was delighted. If it is a surprise then liaise with her friends, family, partner/ husband to make sure she keeps the date free!! Baby Showers are just as much fun if they are not a surprise. You know Mum-to-be and what she may prefer.

Budget?

Naturally your choice and you know the guests. Asking for a contribution from guests is not uncommon.

Food?

Decide whether you will cook the food yourself, simply buy ready prepared or use outside caterers. You could ask others to help with preparing the food or ask guests to bring along an item of food specified by you. Guests like to help out and contribute towards the baby shower party.

Gifts?

Shower My Baby has produced a Creative Gift List with some suggested baby shower gift themes and lots of good ideas. You may wish to recommend a price guide or a gift theme suggesting inexpensive baby shower gifts on your baby shower invitations.

Men and Children?

Traditionally Baby Showers are a girlie thing! Sometimes the men do not like to be left out. One of our customers organised a Maternity Party - the girls in one room playing games, opening gifts and the men in another room chatting and enjoying a beer together. We had heard that the men were far more competitive than the girls when it came to the baby shower party games!! Another customer organised a Baby Shower with children invited and the chosen party games were suitable for the children to take part in. The choice is yours.
